academic counseling

Our faculty, advisors, and affiliates have been in secondary and higher education for a long time, cumulatively. And by design, Ravenburn is a bi-vocational endeavor, so many of us are still teaching full time or part time in high schools, colleges, and universities.

Because of this exposure to big-box education, many of us have reached conclusions about the future of traditional education that fuel us in our drive to create alternate ways. The emerging young adult needs to be able to be on their own, to have adventures and experiences, to have a place to live, and eventually (sooner than later) to have a family. To try to start down this path with inordinate debt for a diploma that simply allows them to compete for entry-level jobs that may or may not be relevant in a future with powerful AI systems seems off kilter with Kingdom living.

It's not easy living in a paradigm shift. Everything seems risky. If you would like to talk to someone in education about your concerns, please reach out. We do not view this as a chance to recruit. Instead, this is one pilgrim talking to another one about the path we are on.

We can text, call, or Zoom. It all starts with an email: ravenburnfaculty@gmail.com
